How to Make Flaming Cheeto Macaroni Bake

Begin by gathering all of your ingredients:
For this dish, you will need:
- 1, 16oz box of the pasta of your choice, I used elbow macaroni
- 1/2 cup butter, I used olive oil blend
- 1/2 cup seasoned flour
- 2c skim milk
- 16oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1-2 teaspoons Texas Pete, or similar hot sauce
- 3 cups Flaming Hot Cheetos, crushed, divided
- salt and pepper to taste
Steps to make Flaming Cheeto Macaroni Bake
- Begin by placing the cheetos in a large zip-top bag. Lightly crush with a rolling pin and set aside. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the box, drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. When it is fully melted, add the seasoned flour and stir or whisk to combine until the flour fully disappears. Add the milk and raise the heat to medium. Continue to stir for several minutes until stir until smooth, bubbly and thickened.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the hot sauce and cheese, stir until the cheese is fully melted.

- Remove the sauce from heat when the cheese is fully melted. Stir in the noodles along with 1 cup of the crushed cheetos. Transfer the whole mixture into a greased 9×13 pan. Top with the remaining crushed cheetos. Bake for 30 minutes serve warm.
What to serve with Flaming Cheeto Macaroni Bake.
- Lemon Roast Vegetables would be a nice, fresh side dish for the Macaroni.
- Make a twist on the traditional macaroni with grilled cheese and serve this baked Macaroni with some Copycat Panera Tomato Basil Soup
- Some roasted broccoli or asparagus
- A large fresh salad would also pair well as a way to cool off the warmth of the pasta dish.


Flaming Cheeto Macaroni Bake
Ingredients
- 1 16oz box elbow macaroni or small pasta of your choice
- 1/2 cup butter I used Smart Balance
- 1/2 cup seasoned flour
- 2 cups milk
- 16 oz sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 1-2 tsp Texas Pete hot sauce or similar
- 3 cups crushed flaming hot cheetos divided
Instructions
- Put the Flaming Hot Cheetos in a large plastic bag. Gently crush with a rolling pin and set aside.
- Heat the oven to 375.
- Cook the macaroni, or whatever noodle you are using according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Add the seasoned flour and whisk until fully combined, around 1-2 minutes. Slowly add the milk. Increase the heat to medium and stir until smooth. Cook several minutes until thick and bubbly.
- Lower heat to low. Stir in the cheese and hot sauce and stir until smooth, remove from heat.
- Stir through the noodles and 1 cup of the crushed Cheetos. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 pan. Top with the remaining crushed Cheetos. Bake, uncovered for 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
